The turn of a year usually stimulates us to reflect on the past year and think about what the upcoming year might look like. This year is a big deal since we are moving to a new decade. Where do you see yourself in 2020? For the remaining new decade? For those of you who lead others or aspire to, what kind of a leader do you want to be next year? In 10 years?
In my recent book, Seizing Success: A Woman’s Guide to Transformational Leadership, you are asked to consider 7 essential core competency areas that will make you a better leader. Each chapter ends with action strategies that include tools to support your self-development. Even though the book is written for women, the truth is that the competencies outlined have relevance for men also; they are: Confidence; Focus; Resilience; Assertiveness; Influence; Transformational Leadership; and tapping into the Power of Peers.
The first step in building a plan is to assess where you are and set goals for where you want to be. My New Year and New Decade gift to you is the opportunity to take a self-assessment based on the competencies in Seizing Success; it is designed to give you better insight into where you see your strengths as a leader and where you want to improve. Please click here to take the assessment.
Also included is an Action Plan template with an example that will help you act on the goals you set for 2020 and beyond. I’d love to get your feedback.
Wishing you a prosperous 2020 and dreams come true for the decade!
